• 1946: Pioneer Automotive Industries is founded by Herman A. Shields.
Begins operations in the United States manufacturing engine and transmission components.
• 1969: Acquires Biltmore Products, expanding the catalog into engine parts.
• 1972: Purchases the clutch tooling division of Perfection Gear.
• 1979: Pioneer is acquired by The Barnes Group (Bristol, Connecticut).
• 1981 - 1986: Adds flywheels, ring gears, and control cables to the product line.
Pioneer becomes recognized as a comprehensive supplier of transmission components.
• 1993: UIS Inc. acquires Pioneer.
• 1995 - 1999: Expands portfolio to include automatic transmission parts, engine mounts, and harmonic balancers.
• 2003: Pioneer is acquired by UCI (United Components, part of The Carlyle Group).
• 2006: Ownership transitions to Doron Arad.
• 2009 - 2010: Pioneer joins The Lodi Group.
• 2017: Pioneer acquires ATP Automotive.
• 2018: Expands the Meridian, Mississippi facility to 300,000 sq. ft., integrating ATP operations.
